A rejuvenating spring week of shamanism and sacred sound to bring healing and self empowerment within the landscapes of Le Puy Camino de Santiago.

Beltane is the peak of Spring and the beginning of Summer, when earth energies are at their strongest. It’s an amazing time of year to ‘sow the seeds’ of your hopes and dreams. Together we will work with the potent energies available at this time, both in our retreat space and in the surrounding sacred sites we visit.

Program Guide

Our week will unfold with daily circles of shamanism and sacred sound both here at Champagne House and during excursions to historic cultural sites in the surrounding area.

Shamanism will include ancient rituals and energy tools to help manifest our dreams for stepping into an empowered future. We begin by seeking our Power Animal to support us during the week. Sacred Sound will include gong immersions, voice work, chanting and singing especially in the extraordinary acoustics of the surrounding ancient chapels, all of which brings us into an uplifted state of being.

At Beltane we will celebrate with a Sacred Fire, and midway through the Retreat you will undertake your own one day personal pilgrimage on The Camino de Compostela on the 8 mile section between Le Romieu and Condom (there will be a shorter option available)

Finally we have a wonderful visit to a traditional Saturday French Market at Nerac and close our week in the beauty of Abbaye de Flaran with a ceremony of gratitude.

Teacher Gay Taaffe

Gay joins us from Findhorn in Scotland but has lived in Barbados for 35 years and began leadership of awakening workshops there in 2001 inaugurating ‘Sacred Circles Barbados’ in 2009.

Since then, she has been consistently active in the community helping people move forward in their spiritual evolution to raise their frequency in a safe and meaningful way through sacred sound, shamanic healing, workshops & retreats continually adding to her varied portfolio of teaching skills.

She is fully trained and certified as a shamanic teacher, sound therapist & gong master, healing dance facilitator and Cacaoista. Her skills are drawn from ancient indigenous traditions and ceremonies such as sweat lodge, vision quest and women’s ritual dance, all working to help people both heal and manifest a positive future. Most workshops combine different modalities, but all offer an opportunity to connect to Yourself, Mother Earth, the Elements and Nature.

Champagne House is located in Gers, Gascony – a 90 min drive west of Toulouse.

It is well placed for visiting the areas wonderful historic sites - all within a short walk/drive.

Transfer is included from Toulouse Airport on 29th April between 3 and 5 pm and airport return on the 6th May.

During your retreat you can expect some amazing cuisine. We offer you a spectacular continental breakfast if you are staying at Champagne House, and either lunch or dinner at local French restaurants (wine/refreshments included). Other meals are either delicious picnics or light meals served from the kitchen at Champagne House. Convivial aperitifs are shared on the terrace before dinner.

Visits to some of the most admired villages in France, ancient historic Bastides, Chateau’s, Armagnac distillery, UNESCO heritage site etc.

There is Wi-Fi throughout Champagne House, a plunge pool, French/Moroccan courtyard, sun terrace, a library, a hidden bar, piano, local walks and local places of interest.
